The RestoPresto base mat fabric (minus the pouch and drawstrings) blocks 99.28% of UVA rays and 99.80% of UVB rays. The fabric was independently tested in accordance with the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) using Test Method 183 and the result is that the mat allows 1/50th of the sun’s UV radiation to reach whatever it is covering! The key here is that it provides protection ONLY to what it is covering so it should not be used by itself for sun protection or as a substitute for full sun protection.
